Activewear for everybody
Throughout my childhood, I faced relentless bullying due to my weight. At 17, I was diagnosed with Graves’ disease. This condition not only led to the removal of my thyroid but also affected the muscles in my body, causing my eye to protrude from its socket. Needless to say, my confidence took a massive hit.
Despite undergoing multiple operations, I was determined to regain my strength through fitness. However, finding activewear that actually fit proved to be a challenge. Most brands stopped at XL, leaving me feeling frustrated with flimsy sports bras and leggings that refused to stay put. It was disheartening to realise that I wasn't being represented in an industry that I was so eager to embrace.
In late 2020, I decided to take matters into my own hands and launched my own brand with a clear vision in mind: to revolutionise the industry by making it size-inclusive for all women. I wanted to create activewear that would not only fit but also empower women to feel confident and supported. With JLUXE, I aimed to provide a platform where real women could see themselves represented, showcasing their real-life stories and celebrating authenticity.
